Events
The possibilities are endless! Any gathering where something is happening, whether it be sporting, social, parties or cultural, photography can save the moment for everyone who was there.
I have had the privilege … no ‘pleasure’ to work for and attend events at such diverse locations such as the excitement of The Curragh Racecourse in Kildare, the salubrious surroundings of Castleknock Hotel & Country Club and the sheer joy of the Vietnamese New Year Celebrations ‘Tet’, which is the abbreviation of Tet Nguyen Dan meaning the first morning of the first day of the new period. How appropriate.
Every day starts a new period in our lives and although we don’t necessarily need to capture every moment of it, when we do, we need to make sure that everyone plays their part. Take for example the pictures here of the 2010 Dublin Burlesque Valentines Ball.
Friends from all walks of life, gathered together on the 14th of February to show their love for each other in a unique and exuberant way. This was a great assignment and it was the people that dressed up acted the part especially for the occasion that made this work so well.
A ceremony, a competition, a convention, a happening, events can be almost anything. At the complete opposite end of the spectrum from the flamboyance of burlesque, but no less colourful are the pictures taken at the Yvonne Saul Memorial Feis, Ashbourne, Co. Meath in March, 2010. All the dancers that took part looked absolutely incredible in their outfits and the pride shown by every one of them is reflected in their faces … even those working behind the scenes.
Events are unique. They are one-offs, never to be repeated. So whatever your event, I can be there for you, your guests and all those attend to make sure you never forget it.
