Here are some questions I am frequently asked, I’ve put them here so that you can get an idea of what happens on a wedding day and after.
If I’ve left out anything you’d like to see on this page, let me know, I’d be happy to update it.

What areas do you cover?

I photograph weddings mainly in the Kildare and Dublin areas, as well as the rest of Leinster. I will, however, travel to wherever you are having your wedding. So that’s not really an issue. Just ask 🙂

When do you arrive on the day?

Photography normally starts with the preparations of the bride and the groom.

I would normally go to where the guys are getting ready and take some photos of them before heading to the bride’s house where I would start by taking photos of the dress, the shoes, the flowers, all the accessories as well as taking the preparation photos, makeup and hair and, of course, taking informal and natural photos of all the important people in your life that are present. Normally this involves about 30 minutes with the guys and about 1hr 20mins with the girls. I find its also helpful in that it gets people used to me being around and so when I taking photos later they are much more relaxed.

How long do you take after the ceremony to take photos?

We would usually go straight into taking photos directly after the ceremony and it would take just an hour. I’m very conscious of the fact that you want to spend time with your guests. You would be amazed how many bridal party and couple photos we can get during this short period. Don’t worry it will be fun, with no false smiles and plenty of laughter. It also gives your guests time to check in, find the venue and have a beverage or two before you arrive at the reception.

When does your photography end?

With most packages, I generally leave when you are announced into the ballroom for the meal.

When do we see our Photos?

Normally by the time you come home from your honeymoon, you will have access to your online gallery…. so usually within 2 weeks.

How long before we get our album?

When you select the photos for your album I will prepare an album design for you, this normally takes a couple of weeks. When and only when you are 100% happy with the layout will it be sent to the album manufacturers. The album manufacturer’s turnaround is normally 3-4 weeks.

Can we print photos from the USB?.

Yes! The photos from your online gallery  will all be on your USB.
They will be print quality and logo free. You also have a web size folder of photos on the USB for use on the interweb.
When you are printing photos from your USB I would advise that you use a reputable lab as the quality from lab to lab varies immensely.
There is also an integrated shopping cart on your gallery where you and your guests can avail of great value prints from one of Europe’s best professional labs.

But… “I hate getting my photograph taken”

I hear this a lot. To be honest, it’s really not that you hate having your photograph taken, it’s usually that you’re just not sure what to do, or what way to stand. But don’t worry we will go through all of this before the wedding so that on the day you can relax and enjoy the photography. Seriously, having your photo professionally taken is great fun and we’re going to have a great time together, honest!.

So… Do we meet up before the wedding?

I do insist on meeting up with couples a week or two before the wedding. At this stage, all the times are confirmed and it’s not so far away as we forget stuff 🙂 We will go through everything about your wedding day at this meeting, from the timing of the day to where we want to take the photos. Who will be in what photo and of course what photos you absolutely have to have. If you have any special photographs you want to be taken now is the time to let me know so that we can make sure we allow time to capture them.

Can you drink more than one cup of coffee in a row?

Oh Yes!

What happens if you get sick or something happens to you?

I am a member of a network of professional photographers and we have an emergency list of people who could photograph your wedding should anything unforeseen happen.

Are you insured?

Yes! I have full 3rd party and professional indemnity insurance. (I’ve never used it but it is there).

OK, We’ve seen enough, how do we book you as our wedding photographer?

Well, the best thing to do would be to give me a call to check that your date is available. You can book there and then or if you would like to meet up to go through everything thats fine too. Once you have made your decision to book there is a booking deposit of €200 required and a booking form to be filled out, this will reserve your date. Then, take a deep breath and relax! another major thing off the list.  I can shoot only one wedding per day so yes I will be your photographer for your wedding day.
